HISTORY
It all started with a glass of lemonade...
In 1961, 6 year old Joe Bisogno tested the waters of business ownership with a lemonade stand. He continued to build his savings account by sweeping barbershop floors, shining shoes, and running a paper route.
Unlike most teenagers Joe invested his savings into his future. From 1972–1976 Joe owned and operated his own ice cream truck, gas station, and used car lot.
“I always wanted to be in business for myself. I was always looking at how I could change things and make them better.”
For the next decade from 1976 to 1988 Joe learned important lessons in restaurant management by working at the McDonalds® Corporation. The most important of these lessons coming from chain founder, Ray Kroc: “If you take care of the customer, the customer will take care of you.”
On March 1,1989, Joe opened his first Mr. Goodcents® Subs and Pastas restaurant in Lenexa, Kansas.
As Company Founder and CEO, even today Joe humbly continues to call
himself the “Chief Cook and Bottle Washer” at Mr. Goodcents®.
